The Reliquary was a cast bronze piece developed during my school years at the University of Minnesota. The piece used the lost-wax method of creating the cast and the bronze was poured by our class in the school’s foundry. Chasing, patina and a transparent layer of paint was then added. The piece talks about structure and makes a joke about the history of the reliquary objects found in Churches that are said to host the remains of Saints. Many churches for instance make a claim of hosting the index finger of Saint Thomas, for instance, but in this version I’ve included casts of my own fingers.
